The “Cante” that Enchanted Osaka

The Alentejo sang in Japan — and the world listened. For three days, the voice of the Alentejo, a region in southern Portugal, resonated at Expo 2025 Osaka. Blending ancestral traditions with the universality of music, this living cultural heritage was celebrated with a special focus on Cante Alentejano and a concert by António Zambujo.

AICEP promotes economic programme in Japan

Portugal asserts itself as a European hub for innovation and sustainable mobility. AICEP, the Portuguese public entity organising Portugal's participation in the Osaka Expo, launched an economic programme on 22 May to promote the country as a leading partner in innovation, sustainability and investment. Of note was the seminar “Mobility Seminar – Portugal's Role in Europe's Evolving Mobility Ecosystem”, which brought together 50 participants from global companies and other stakeholders at the Portuguese Embassy in Tokyo.

Portuguese Architecture in the Spotlight at Expo Osaka

Portugal presents itself to the world through architecture. The exhibition Related Paths – 4 Architects showcased in Osaka four Lisbon-based studios that reflect the talent, social awareness and global recognition of contemporary Portuguese architecture. Related Paths is also a tribute to the influence of Álvaro Siza Vieira, Pritzker Prize laureate and one of the most prominent figures in world architecture, whose work has inspired generations of architects in Portugal and beyond.
