Japanese Ambassador emphasises deepening relations with Portugal

Japan's Ambassador to Portugal, Ota Makoto, believes that relations between the two countries will be strengthened by Portugal's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, providing an opportunity for the Japanese to get to know better the innovative and modern country that arrived in the Japanese archipelago almost 500 years ago.

Portugal's stamp symbolises the Blue Dialogue

The Portugal Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is presenting its official stamp, a graphic piece reflecting Portugal's participation theme: Ocean, The Blue Dialogue.

The stamp's design, by the graphic consortium barbara says...António Silveira Gomes and Cláudia Castelo + José Albergaria, is marked by a dynamic optical pattern that evokes the waves of the sea and the ropes that line the façade of the Pavilion, designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.

Portugal merchandising at Expo 2025 Osaka

At the Portugal Pavilion, visitors can take a bit of the Portuguese experience with them through exclusive merchandising items such as pins, bags, pens, notebooks and T-shirts. Inspired by the Pavilion's visual identity, these pieces reflect the connection between oceans, energy and cultures while incorporating the aesthetics of 'ropes', a striking element of the space's architecture. Sustainability is the watchword: ecological materials, reduced packaging and innovative production processes guarantee a minimised environmental impact without compromising sophistication and appeal to the Japanese public.

TUMI brings the soul and magic of Fado to Japan

Considered an ambassador for Portuguese culture in Japan, Kazufumi Tsukimoto, better known as TUMI, will be a regular presence at the Portuguese Pavilion throughout the six months of Expo 2025 Osaka, bringing the soul and magic of Fado to this world event.

Born in Osaka, TUMI founded the Portuguese Guitar and Fado schools and published the first Portuguese guitar teaching manual in Japan in 2004. Since then, he has dedicated his career to promoting Portuguese culture in that country.
